a little about....

Neat! I don't usually meet folks from my neck of the woods online :) I'm in the north central part of town (near USAA). We love this town, but we spend more time in Boerne than we do here since my family all moved out that way during the end of my HS years. Anyway, good to meet a neighbor :)

my home state) and he in Huber heights, Ohio. We are now in Laura, Ohio. We had Luke on June 8, 2000 and Matthew September 28, 2001 and now a little sweetie to be born probably about June 14, 2004! We also have a dog, Scraggles and a cat named Tigger.

I was born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington (I hadn't been in Seattle very long when I met Mark).

Pampered Chef Kitchen consultant (I love Pampered Chef stuff) I haven't had a lot happening with that lately. It slowed down when my Mom was here and I am trying to get back into the swing of things. Anybody need a food chopper? Just kidding! I haven't mentioned Pampered Chef before because I don't post often and it seemed a little tacky.

A side note: My friend that told me about the site that my DH and I met on is getting married Nov. 8th to someone she met on that same site (our church's singles website)! I want so much to go to the wedding. My friend and I have not met in person and she will be moving to Wyoming after the wedding.

I am glad that you decided to post. I was wonder where some of the "old timers were", at least I can only assume that there are several of you that have been on the board for a long time. Thank you for being here!

Wow, so are you like a firetruck architect? And, another Military. Interesting.

Cheryl,

Where on earth is Laura, Ohio? I grew up for 22 years in Ohio before forced to move to California (LOL DH went active duty) and it's not ringing a bell with me LOL Is it over near the Dayton/Cincy area? I think you've said before, but needless to say... I forgot LOL

What a great hobby! Do you do it as a side bus. or do you just do it for fun? Do you edit them as well? And by the way, we are so happy when the "lurkers" come out of the woodwork. Soni

No, my husband keeps "hinting" that I could do it as a business, but my hands are plenty full just dealing with ours!

I import whatever format it is into the computer, edit it in a movie program, sometimes add music or other sound, then put it into a DVD program which allows me to make more of a show out of it. (I'm not naming the programs because I as one of the lonely Macintosh users for this) Sometimes I even add a slide slow of still photos, then export to DVD. Most of the time I make at least three copies, for us and our kids. I really enjoy it, but it's one of those things that's difficult to do when other people are around or the TV is on, so I take breaks (sometimes for weeks!) and do more social things.

I know that I have a friend that does it "for fun" and it takes her hours and hours to do, but it is so much nicer to watch when she is done. Maybe someday I'll add another notch to my student of all, master of none status.

By the way, as I understand it, Macs are much better for the creative stuff. I'm definitely not a pro though. Soni

Still trying to start is okay. It took me two maybe three years before I decided to just jump in. It seems so overwhelming. One of the things that I did to jump start myself, was go through my pict. box and pick out 4-5 pict that I wanted on a layout. I put these in a folder, added some embelishments, paper, diecuts, etc. and put them in a folder. When I did decide that I was going to do it, it was way easier to start, not so overwhelming. Before I knew it I had a ton of pages done. I still do this, so if I only have 10 min I grab a folder and do as much as I can, put it back in the folder for next time until it is done. (Just a thought, cause I know I didn't know where to begin)

And by the way, this is a great place to be inspired. Every time I come on I want to go do something new. Soni Name: Selena Gilcrease

but no cylinders, cones,or sphere. I think that they expect the children to visualize and drawthem. I'm not sure. I have a blackline master that has a cylinder, hexagonal pyramid, and a hexagonal prism on it, but no cone or sphere. Ifyou want me to scan and send it to you, I will. Sorry I wasn't morehelpful...I even pulled out my old math books to try and find something.Let me know if you find anything. I would be interested in this as well.Selena Louisiana

My biggest problem with starting right now (besides time) is getting the equipment to make it look good. I have some pretty papers to start with and my photos. I also have some adhesive, stickers, scissors, and a few other things. I do know I need some type of cutting tool since I cannot cut straight even if my life depended on it. It's getting there. I hope to have at least the first couple of pages of my wedding album done in the next couple of weeks.
