Bought some scrap Stuff this week!!!!

Although I have plenty of the incidentals like paper and embellishments, I treated myself to not 1 but 2 sets of sizzlets on Monday. Michael's had a 50% off coupon in the paper that was only good Sunday and Monday. Sunday we were battling Hurricane Frances so when things calmed down on Monday i had to reduce my cabin fever so DD and I headed to Michaels. They let DD use a 50% off without having the coupon in hand...she bought "Girls are Wierd" and I used my coupon for "Script". I'm so excited! Although I really didn't need to be spending money, I just couldn't pass up saving $75 per set on something I know I was going to eventually buy anyway.

Then today I finally decided to look at photo printers. Being stuck in the house trying to scrap without copies of the right pics last weekend was about to put me over the edge. I commented to my DH that I would like to get a photo printer....no major comments one way or another from him so today DD and I looked at a couple. the HP Photosmart 7960 looked like a really good one so I called DH and asked him if I could buy...and he gave the OK without hesitation. Now to figure out where I'm going to set it up at....that's going to be a challenge!

BTW, contrary to how all this spending may sound.....we did NOT win the lottery! Sorry to be a bragger but I was so excited, I just had to tell someone that would appreciate it.

Sounds like lots of goodies Susan. I have the script, but don't use it much, since I'd have to pull out the Sizzix and set it up somewhere. Your DH sounds like a sweetie to no even hesitate. I hope you get no more hurricanes.

That sounds awesome! This maybe stupid to ask but....What are sizzlets?

Have fun "playing" with your new toys. Shannon

Ouuu Susan, I can't wait to see a layout using ALL your new toys, LOL.

Shannon, sizzlets are thin dies that you can use on a Sizzix machine with a converter. Each alphabet die typically has 4 cut-outs. For example the A would have an upper and lower case A plus shadows for each. If you go to

and you'll see what I mean!

A NEW photo printer - WOW!! You go girl, BUT I have to say or ask is "was David OUTSIDE during those storms?!" (read - in the doghouse - LOL!)

Sounds fabulous!! I am still wanting to get a Sizzix machine but I'm holding off because there are so many dies I want from QuicKutz (I'm making my Christmas list:). Since we've been cooped up all week and working our butts off to get the stores open, my MIL and I went to JoAnns Etc. yesterday and would you believe that I used my coupon for a small alphabet stamp set for DD and I didn't get anything for me???? I can't believe it either - next time will be my turn.

So glad you got a good photo printer. A few weeks ago I had to buy a new printer to go with my desktop (my 4 year old HP didn't want to work right) so I bought the HP Officejet 6110 - with a flatbed scanner !! I hated the one I had before. Anyway, this one scans great (haven't tried scanning any

12x12 layouts or stitching) and I bought the photo cartridge to go with it and it prints pictures I am very pleased with!

I hope your new printer makes you as happy as mine does:))

Wow Susan! That is awesome! Can I come over and play with your new alphabets? LOL! Just kidding, I keep thinking I will get a Sizzix someday but I keep talking myself out of it. Nice hubby too! I bet you are loving your new printer. My husband's parents are in Panama City, FL awaiting the hurricane Ivan the Terrible! Keep dry!

Dave....So far we've only opened one set of Sizzlets and DD isn't quite sold on them....I haven't tried them. She was cutting while I was placing them on the page.

No, Dave wasn't in the dog house...he just knows that I really enjoy my photos and my digital camera. I think he looked at it a little like an investment. Then again, the fact that I gave him the OK to spend some big bucks on a new toy for his hobby didn't hurt. AND he'll be gone for 2 weeks around Thanksgiving for a hunting trip while I stay home to work.

Which Alpha sets do you have? I'm hoping for the Funky Brush set when I go to Expo in Oct.

Later........ S
