Embossers

I have seen an embossing kit at AC Moore that looks intriguing to me. Do any of you use the embossers? How do the embossed pages hold up in the scrapbooks? Which ones are good? They look like they could add some great dimension to the pages but I am not quite sure. TIA! Jacqui

If you are talking about "dry embossing" using a template and a tool to press the paper through the template (empressor), I have used it quite a bit. The key is to use the right size tool to match the template. Also, it helps to have just the right thickness of paper - not too thin or it will rip and not too thick or it won't show up very clearly. Finally, it helps to rub the paper in the area you will be using the tool on with wax paper first. It makes the tool run more smoothly.

Mine is a light boss as well. I think I have used the light box part of it more than I have the embosser, but as long as it is getting used. I just have not had the time to sit down and do a page with it. I played with the embosser for a while when I got it but never did again. I also like the pegs to hold everything down.
