fiskars or cutterpede?

I am thining of getting a new 12" personal cutter. Has anyone tried the new fiskars one (silver & blue). I don't know if I should get the new fiskars or the cutterpede one. I am leaning toward fiskars as this is the one I currently use and have adjusted to the way it cuts. I am also hoping that the new (and improved) one is easy to use and cuts straight. I know there was alot of discussion on the cutterpede a while back, but has anyone tried the new fiskars personal trimmer?

I still like my fiskars better, but the cutterpede is growing on me now that I need a blade refill for my old fiskar!!

I really like the cutterpede. I had a lot of problems with the old fiskars and have had none with the cutterpede. I have gone to a few crops recently and the cutterpede seems to be growing on a lot of people.

I had the new Fiskars before I bought my Cutterpede. I returned the Fiskars because I couldn't even get it to cut through a piece of lightweight paper and the blade kept catching. In defense, maybe I just got a bad one. I was a little intimidated at the thought of using a rotary trimmer, but the Cutterpede is so simple you can't go wrong. You can trim off as little as you want. Last night I was trimming some of the white off around a photo. I wanted to leave just a tiny bit of white, it worked perfect. I never could've done that evenly w/ my Fiskars.

Have fun shopping and let us know what you decide on.

If you're willing to consider another option, I highly recommend the Carl 12" personal rotary trimmer PRT100. I have the Fiskars and just don't think it's possible to get a straight cut from it. I tried the cutterpede but it seemed difficult to use.

I bought the Carl PRT100 from QVC and absolutely love it. It gives nice straight clean cuts, is easy to use, has a quick change blade with optional decorative blades available, has grid markings on both sides of the cutting blade, has a see through paper hold down, swing out arm that measures to 14", etc. Did I say I just love this? I can cut 1/4" or any size strips with ease because the grid markings are so well set up on either side of the blade.

QVC has the trimmer packaged with two extra decorative blades at a very reasonable price, item #F6437.

I can't count how many different paper trimmers I have tried looking for one to give a nice clean straight cut. I am extremely happy with the Carl.
