Magic Touch

Now befor ya all think there's any funny bussiness here...it's just me :)

DH brought home some antique gold gilding paste called "Magic Touch". He said he thought it looked like something I would use for my scrapping:) Heck, I've even got him enabled! I've read on the little jar, but it only says: For adding lustre to all craft projects. Apply with finger tips or soft cloth. I've tried the finger tips method, but it looks messy to me. Have anyone tried something like this? I won't use it close to pictures, because of the smell, I seriously doubt if it's AF.

I presume it would work basically the same as chalks. What do you guys use to apply that? I've never tried it. Thanks a lot.

& look further down the page. I would suspect it is more for gilding furniture and picture frames, etc. It does say you can stencil onto porous surfaces but looks like you may need to seal it after. They have some projects online...but it looks like they are mostly decoupage. The gilding I use is waxy and I use the pad of my ring finger {not the tip} to apply, then rub vigorously with a piece of kitchen paper to remove excess. Really light pressure is the key but takes a little practise. Mess around on scrap paper until you get the hang of it :o)

Should have said in last post that for chalks, I use make-up applicators, q-tips, cotton wool balls or pads and fingers....'cos I like to get messy...LOL Depends on the amount of control you want or if you want to apply to small or large areas. I also use cheap eye makeup as chalks, if I want a soft tint...doubt if they are AF either, and I use artist's pastels if I want more colour depth.

This link features the rub-ons I use and they are AF

Wow Marilyn, you are quick of the bat with those websites! Thanks, that's the exact stuff! :))) Yep, I could tell by the smell that it didn't seem to be suitable for paper...lol! Shame he had good intentions. Maybe I can use it for the April Tin Challenge - do some decoupaging. Haven't tried that yet. Thanks again.
