I absolutely adore my DN, but I am excited that he will be back in school, then I can concentrate on finding a job myself. I guess I know what my mom went through.. LOL.. Please forgive the outburst, but Hallajuah!!!!

Our school starts here on the 18th. My mom always told us her favorite birthday present was back to school time. Her birthday was August 26th. I never understood that until I had my own kids and appreciate the "me" time...LOL I know she was only kidding...:-)

I'm weird.... I'm sad when they go back to school. They are my buds and we have a good time not being on anyone's time schedule, but our own. That might be more so for me as mine are older and it's easier to get "me" time now than when they were little. Now I can say, "I'd like some time to myself" and they'll tease me with a sniff sniff "You don't want me?!" and we both laugh. Then I say, "No really go away." haha Like tonight... scrap night with my friends. I'm working on turning my 6X6 Barn album into a

12X12. The 6X6 was just getting too thick and I hadn't gotten all the photos in it yet. The 12X12 (Dave's idea BTW) is working out great.

I have to wait until the 21st!!! Right now though, they're at MIL's. They've been there for 2 weeks while we had things going on here and I was at camp. I'm ready for them to come home tomorrow!! I'm actually looking forward to the next couple weeks and spending time with them.

Haha-mine went back on steamy hot August 1st! But I wasn't really ready...like Lynne I miss my kids when summer break is over!

FIRST OF AUGUST??!! Man that is early? Do you have that all year round school there Arleen or the revolving cycle thin due to overcrowding?

It just seems so early the last 20 years it has gotten earlier and earlier. Being a kid and living in different parts of the school never started before Labor Day but depending on how many snow days or whatever we might not get out till mid June.

I know couple years ago when I had and kept my niece Molly all the time, at first I missed her being gone to school then was happy she was!! LOL! Mixed blessings I guess yo could say.

Dave- I believe that our county is heading the way of year round school...we had an 8 week summer, but we get a full week off in November, 2 in December, another week in February and a week in April. We get out the last week of May. Summer did seem waaaay too short though...and it was probably the last one with my son hanging out at home as he graduates HS this year! Only problem with starting so early is the heat is just awful...football practices, band practices etc...are taking a toll on the kids. We had one football player die (not our school, but local) during practice and several of our band kids have passed out while practicing on the blacktop after school...plus, I hate to see what the electric bill is for the school! I kinda miss the old calendar myself...

School starts tomorrow for my little one. She's going to kindergarten, so I'll have a new milestone page to scrap. (At least she's going for

6 weeks or so, I may have to pull her and homeschool her due to some stupid mistakes the school made!)

I'm not looking forward to my 'baby' going to school :-) but I do enjoy the time off to get work done around the house!! Maybe now I can get my hobby room totally reorganized!
