OT: laptop getting fixed

well what a day i have been having..i hate PC problems and man oh man do i have them.. i have a Trojan virus spyware problem and i didnt know what to do..i worked on my laptop for about 4 days till i couldnt get that darn blue warning sign off my screen..i could use the internet whenever it let me..and all the popups and bad adult sites came coming through man i was so upset and disgusted with it all. i do have waranty but GEEK SQUAD at best buy said it doesnt cover VIRUSES so i was up a creek.. i was so mad..then they said for $199.00 they would go in and clean my system out and get back to working order..well what choice did i have..hubby said do it..so i agreed and since i whined i got a 60 dollar discount and then i told them to put the needed spyware/anti-virus protction i needed so i got a discount on that too. so i left best buy with $242.00 loss...what could i do.. a big lesson i learned. believe me i wont let none of these programs laps in time again..i didnt know my first time with a PC so man i wasnt happy when i got home but guess theres nothing more i can do but learn from it.. i love my webtv cause it doesnt get stuff like this...well just had to vent.. later....chatty

You're right doesn't sound like you had a choice... but I bet getting your computer back up and running will help take the sting out of the charge. So, sorry you had to go through that, because of dang virus!

Sorry you spent the money all ready. If it happens again just pop in your restore cd(s) and reinstall windows (not repair). It will take about an hour and then let it do the windows updates and you will be ok. Before using it online install some software that will keep it safer like spybot, spyware blaster etc. If you backup your important files regularly it won't be a big deal if you have to reinstall windows.
