OT: Prayers Needed

Hi All, I took my Dad for an Angiogram yesterday as the Dr. said he may have a blockage. They did a EKG on Friday and said that he had a T-Wave inversion ( instead of looking like a camel's hump on the EKG it went down like a dip). Well, all 3 of his Arteries are occluded (blocked) one is 100%, one is

95% and is calcified and the last is 75%. All of these arteries have created what is called Collaterals (like branches of a tree) supplying the heart with blood. So, his heart is still being fed with blood but probably not enough God Forbid the other 2 go to 100%. They didn't want to do a stent because he has no symptoms and is not a candidate for bypass surgery. He also has Parkinson's (so does my Mom) and he also has Prostate cancer. They put him through all of this and now they aren't doing anything!! I wish we never knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been very upset and I am trying to change how I feel!!!! Just don't know anymore!!!!!!!!

Please say a Prayer for him! We need all the encouragement that we can get! God Bless Everyone, Dorothy in NY

Oh Dorothy what terrible news. I will be paying for your and your family. My family went through something similar. My dad had been on kidney dialysis for a few years. They said he needed open heart. He didn't want to do it. He was scared. They had said that if he didn't he would only have a few years left. We kept telling him he would feel so much better after he had it done. I even wanted to be tested to see if I could give him a kidney. He didn't want any of us to give him a kidney. When he decided to go get his open heart done. He finally told me after he got through that, he would let me get tested. He was in the hospital for 6 weeks. He never got to come home. We lost him. It was just one problem after another. First off. He got an infection in his incision. They had to take out part of his breast bone. They had to end up putting a trek in. Every week it was something new. He ended up dying from an ulcer in his intestines. They couldn't stop the bleeding. Sometimes I wonder if we did the wrong thing by begging him to have the surgery. Its been 3 years. Its still very hard for me. Here I am wiping my eyes just telling you my story. I pray that your dad gets the through this. I know its hard for you. I will be thinking of you.

Hugs!! Shannon in Indiana Mother of Logan and Tanner

Hang in there. Thanks for your kind words. I sure hope the doctors can come up with a way to help your dad. It's bad enough he has Parkinson's. My husbands aunt had that. She always said she was in pain. I'll continue to think of you and your family. Hopefully you live close that you can visit often. Keep us posted.
