OT: Prayers please

I seen the power of prayers here. I just got word that a good friend of ours, also a Captain at the fire department is near death. He went in for shoulder surgery this afternoon, went into cardiac arrest in recovery. He is still on a respirator but has no brain function at this time. Please pray for a painless, smooth passing for him. He is a treasured member of our department. With no brain function I know he won't make it back but I don't want him suffering. I will be headed up to the hospital as soon as DS #2's girlfriend's mother gets here to pick her up.

Thank you.

I hope for all involved that his passing is an easy transition. If that is what God has in store for him.

How terrible Kenda. He and you and Alan are in my prayers! It is really sad when something like this happens. So unexpected and seemingly so unfair.

I made it up to the hospital to see him Friday evening before visiting hours were over. I did get to see him. I said my goodbyes. He had been sent for a CT before I arrived. The results of the CT were given to his family yesterday morning. He is brain-dead. His family has gathered and I'm sure it is just a matter of time before the remove the respirator. I won't be going back up. He was always such a jovial, fun person and to see him like he is again I just can't do it, I'm glad I said my goodbyes on Friday. All the department is supporting the family and doing what we can for them. Please continue to pray for them, to give them strength during this time as they have some very hard decisions to make. Thank you to everyone for their prayers and good thoughts.

We recieved word a little while ago that at 9 am this morning he was removed from the ventilator, he was pronounced at 11 am. Sadly his mother collapsed shortly before the removal and passed away. Even at 60y/o he was her "baby", , her heart couldn't take it. Again, thank you to all who are sending prayers. Please keep his family in you prayers this week, it will be a long one for them.
