OT: Something wonderful happened this week...

Oh Judy, she's adorable. I'm sure your sister is just so excited. It's great that they will be able to give Mikhayla the love and care that she needs.

Thanks Trish. I think it must have been a very hard decision to make. But a very unselfish one aswell.

No! I understand exactly what you meant, don't worry :) It IS a very sad event for her bio-parents and just the culmenation of a long, drawn-out, unhappy episode. Like I said, it's a long story, but suffice to say, her bio-dad is a long term drug addict and that's where most of the money goes which don't leave a lot for Mikhaylas needs. He asked Teresa and Gary on a sober day to foster Mikhayla, as he realize he's not creating a good environment for a little girl to grow up in, and for his honesty, I admire him. That is what I meant with "unselfishness". Sorry, if I expressed myself wrongly, I sometime search for the right words :)))

No problem, That's the worst about e-mail, no tones to read in the expressions:>(

Trish, I'm a big "teaser", I love to joke and sometimes when I've written something, I wonder if the other party will get the right message, especially since English is not my mother tongue,. Here, in SA, it's seen as good naturedness, when folks "joke" each other, but I know that all cultures don't work the same. That's why I use such a lot of smileys, just to make sure everyone knows I'm intending it in a good spirit :)

I'm doing really well. I wanted to let you know that last week I met a man from Cape Town and he was showing me a book about South Africa. You live in a really beautiful country Judy.

No he wasn't visiting California. He was our waiter on the cruise we took recently and he was a very good ambassador!
