Yay! I finished my wedding gift album!

It only took me 18 months since we got married... (blushes) I got halfway through in a January and then put it away 'for later' and it ended up stalled for six months!

I was in an anniversary swap last month and the goodies arrived this week and some of them were just right to help get me off my lazy rear and to finish the album... I'll photograph all the pages tomorrow and post them to webshots...

Only thing is, now I've put so much work into it I don't want to give it away! I want to be greedy and keep it all to myself...

Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do for John's sisters... I was going to make them each an album but it's a lot of work. John said I should scan this one and then get three copies printed out on photo paper and send one to each recipient. I'm not sure how best to do that though - Walgreens wants three bucks an 8x10 print, but the album has

18 pages, plus a dozen inserts so it would cost a fortune! Not to mention the cost of buying three 8-inch square albums to put them in. I can't print them out ourselves because we don't have an inkjet printer...

Congratulations on finishing the album Karen. I bet it is beautiful, can't wait to see the pictures. Do you have a Kinko's near you? They have color copiers that make great looking copies and they are less expensive than Walgreens. It might be worth checking out.

There is a site where you can upload your pages too and they will print and send them back to you quickly.

I've heard a lot of good things about them and everything is scrapbook safe. I'm planning on using them to duplicate some of my pages.

Oh I can't wait to see it Karen! You've done tons better than I have. We've been married 9 years, and I haven't even started our wedding album. But, in my defense, I didn't know about scrapbooking until 2003. Since then, I've been looking for the perfect items to do our wedding album. I have the right color of blue cardstock. I need to find the right rosey pink. Plus, finding the right stamp set, but I think I've found it. It would be nice to have that done for our 10th anniversary, though!

Thanks for this link M-C! It looks quite promising, and it's relatively local to me... I emailed them to ask if they can copy a bound album...

Let me know what happen with them. I'm not quite ready to have them do any work for me.

Don't feel bad, Deb. I just recently finished scrapping my mother's wedding, which was in 1946. Now I have to do mine, which was 32 years ago. Then my daughter's, which was 9 years ago... I do hope I'm caught up in time to scrap my granddaughter's wedding... Karen, I'm looking forward to seeing your album. Your work is always beautiful, and I need some motivation to get these albums finished!

She got back to me extremely quickly and said she could do the album this weekend, only I'm not ready yet (we can't afford it just now!) I worked out how much it'll cost and it would be thirty bucks an album for her to print it out on glossy cardstock, and fifteen bucks for the scanning... it sounds like a lot and I'm thinking hard about whether I want to do it!

It would be nice to have it done by your tenth, and Karen waita go on getting it done in a year and a half. Our 11th anniversary is next month and I have 1, just one page done. I'm nervous to start and then not like what I did so I tend to stick to subjects the "don't matter" as much but that I still want to record.

Karen can't wait to see your album. I made my dad a scrapbook album last year for his 50th birthday and it took me forever to make, so I know how you feel. Some days I forgot that I was even working on the project. Then when it got closer to his birthday I had to rush. It all worked out.

lol! Thanks for the compliment :) Go right ahead and scraplift your heart out Dave... The album is fairly simple - when you're working at a small size there's not a lot of room to get fancy! About the most original thing I did with it was tilting one page at 45 degrees to fit an extra photo in...

I figured well, I can always get more prints if I really mess a page up... and I got a good start on it with the spur of wanting to have it to show to people at our party - I tend to work well under pressure, because if I've got a definite deadline there's no time to dither! So pick a photo or two that you really like and go from there...
