just saying hello

Just wanted to pop in and say hello - and come up for a bit of air..though, given as my son has his science fair project in my workroom, not sure how fresh it really is....lol.

I've been working steadily (and frantically) on items for this wekeend's craft fair. I think this may actually be my last one if there are no sales...bummer....but I do know of a few places that I can take my stuff to sell if it doesn't work out.

So far, I have fabric grocery totes, padded bags (for cell phones, cds, etc.), and the remains of the infant/toddler bedding and some snugglebags. Friend (notice the lack of "dear") wants to get rid of the bath salts that we made together - she will not be helping set up on Friday, nor will she be there on Saturday....they got tickets for a show in PA, so I get to do all the hard stuff by myself...joy...and now you know why no "dear". I think she's fed up with this whole scene just like I am...oh well.

So, as soon as I finish with emails, updating my inventory list (of things to sell), and clearing the little bits and pieces off my sewing table and ironing board, I'm getting to work on things for ME..not to sell, but for ME to actually wear...wahoo!!! I think I'm going to trash my original plans to work from older stash and dive into a gorgeous knit top that I just got the fabric for...what can i say, I'm

*so* into knits right now....draped correctly, the can hide figure issues and draw attention to the good parts....definitely what I need as I work towards dropping some pounds.

Anyway...like I said, just wanted to say hello....time to get some more water and head back to the workroom...oh, and it will smell MUCH better tonight...DS (with my help) will be attacking the final phase of his project - testing cleaners....right now I have bacteria growing in petri dishes, within plastic bags (that are current;y open so that the bacteria can breath..ick!), stored in a 2-tier cart - all the better to keep the dog from eating this batch (yes, the chocolate lab ate the bags, petri dishes, seaweed agar, and bacteria in the first attempt at this expeiment).

Ok...have fun sewing!!

I've wondered where you had wandered off? Is your DS in 4th this year? I know/think he is near the age of what was my youngest DGD, till her baby sister made her debut on the 12th of December. Thinking I would not have any more DGC, I gave some nieces lots of fabrics & patterns. I have had a good time shopping for new & different ones for the little one. When we go to see them next week, I plan to have one suitcase filled with crib sheets, blankets, bibs, etc. plus clothes for both girls. Taking Beverly's good advice, I've made both of them matching nightgowns of ladybug design lavender cotton with white lace in front. Maybe I can post a couple photos when we get back on the 1st of April. Emily

He's finishing up 3rd grade this year. He did a science fair project in kindergarten, then didn't want to do any again until this year...joy! DD will be starting kindergarten in the fall, and she is looking forward to it...yay!!!

December 12th, huh?? Great birthday to have....John Jay (1st justice of the Supreme Court), and I also share that birthday...there are others as well, but he's the only one I can remember...lol.

Sounds like you are going well prepared...hope they like the nightgowns!
