Hi, I would like to take a class or work shop that would help me understand the basics of pattern alteration and fitting. Preferably in the Nottingham area or in the Cambridge area (I live in Oslo, Norway) Any recommendations?

Contact the local education authority and ask about their adult studies program: they may offer something like this. Other than that, a hunt through Yellow Pages for the area would turn up a few fabric and machine shops, which you could contact and ask... In Cambridge, try Godson Thoday's.

I can also recommend Husqvarna Studio, also one of the local colleges (New College?) does City and Guilds classes.
The new Husqvarna Studio class timetable came in the post the other day - I'll see if I can get more details when I get home from work. (What's the betting that post will appear before this one (via Google).
