Pfaff Tipmatic 6110 reviews

Hello good folks at alt sewing.

An upcoming estate auction has a Pfaff Tipmatic 6110. The lady was a quilter, it seems. Is this a specialty machine ? Anything to look for - problems or wear-out areas ? Value ? Comments / opinions are welcome. Thanks. John T.

Fair quality machine. Last blue book on it was $181.00

Back in the 90s, I bought the 6120 and really used it for over 10-years, before I received an embroidery machine. It held up well, although I never did any quilting or used heavy fabric. I still use it sometimes, especially for buttonholes because they are easy to make and look really good.

Thanks, Ron. I'm not sure what bluebook means, though. ? Would parts be available/difficult/ in Canada ? John T.

Thanks, Emily. If you are in UK / Europe Pfaff is probably more common ? I wonder if parts might be a problem in North America ? John T.

There's a little blue book that's a guide to help dealers determine the trade-in value of sewing machines.

Should not be a problem.

If you just want a review you could google your machine or alternatively look here for all sorts of sewing related reviews.

Blue book is just a value indicator. Was used as a value guide for trade ins on other machines. Part should not be an issue yet.

I am in TX, southen USA, and I know there are many Pfaff dealers around.

I have to say, I've never needed a repairman, but I am diligent in having my machines cleaned and adjusted(TLC) on a regular basis. I am in my late 70s and have been sewing for over 65-years.

Thanks, Claire & everyone who replied. I did try a google for reviews but must have mis-typed or something - got very few hits - many non-English. John T.
