Well, not OK, but healing. Nail is a goner, I believe, and when you recall the old saying about sore thumbs, remember that the other side of your hand has as many casual encounters with objects. Trouble is, when bruised, they're not so casual.
Never rest your hand on a folding point in the linkage when reaching for the hydraulic lever! Gloves will _not_ protect you.
