Hello I am back

Jan , you are so right - as I said we enjoyed it and it was interesting but certainly not a trip I would advise anyone to do unless they have a lot of time and nothing to do. It would , from a tourist point of view, be much better to fly to Perth then to perhaps Broome and hire a car form there to see some of the area and then fly to Kunnunurra and after that go home !!

The best area of Australia is certainly the east coast , so I am glad that we live where we do.

Mirjam this means a bit of fun !!! The town of Katherine as in my travels in our Northern Territory which is the area in the centre north of the continent - we have six states and two territories. that is the states are Queensland,New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, Tasmania and the territories ar the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory ( this last one something like Washington DC in that is just houses our National Capital )

Of course, "our" Katherine is more or less north from everyone as she said God Bless Gwen

Oh, no, you have to! The scientific name is "cropolite", and it is neat. Totally fossilized, of course, and shiny.

Indeed, it is! Fossilized, and shiny. Many people don't know what it is, but they do the scientific term, and think that they are just holding a fossil. Then the instructor tells them what it is, and the looks on their faces are priceless.
