OT - Proud and tired

Hi all - DD just got done with this year's play "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" - she went for a bigger part this time and got to do Mrs. Teavee, which means she was in practically the whole thing. They all did a grand job . . .(that was Saturday)

Then one of her best friends (who was in the play too) and her did a skit for the Variety show - which was last night. . . they did the Abbott and Costello - "Who's on First" - except that DD skip the pitcher part they did great - won third place in the drama part (well OK - there were only three skits in the drama part - and the others did Monty Python and Shakespere - and were all high schoolers, so had a lot of people in the audience. . .)

So tomorrow the 8th grade choir - mixed ensemble group (who are on a roll - two first places in various contests) is entered into yet another contest about 1.5 hr drive away. . . which I just found out last night that if they place first - there will be another - statewide contest to go to. . .

On top of that both are crewing for the musical that just started rehersing. . .

So I'm so very proud - but I'm very tired and looks like no relief in sight!!!!

Sonya (the unofficial photographer for the play - I almost have all the photos ready for a final complilation disk - there will be some up on a website for anyone interested . . .)

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, as a matter of fact the best times are the ones you just shared with us, proud mothers and happy kids performing. Way to go

Wow -- lots of fun things to watch but it sounds like you are running. My sister gets drafted to cover some of these kinds of events for the three of her grandkids that live close - too much for their folks to juggle with jobs etc - so their "Nana" goes to encourage and admire. She got an apartment near their school on purpose. Unfortunately I live across the US from my DGDs and miss the soccer and basketball games, art exhibits etc that they participate in. I will be spending the week after Easter with them, though, but that is their vacation.

Sonya, this sounds VERY busy, and WONDERFUL!! Enjoy it! MY children are grown up, but I often remember, with great pleasure, events like this! Both my children joined theatre groups, sometimes more than one! And both of them were mebers of the School's "Marching Band", for many years. It was an exhausting time for their parents too, but SO many good memories! Glad you told us, I feel I can "see" you all! ;-))) AUD ;-)))
