OT: Update on thumb/wrist 4 weeks after surgery

I hope that works for you, Nora! :o)

I'll be watching the ball drop from Times Square with Dick Clark tonight right along with you... so I'll be wishing you and all my friends a Happy New Year when it happens! That's pretty cool that Dick Clark will be back this year! :o)

Hi Gem:

The snow must be quite wide spread, we woke up to snow this morning here near Niagara Falls as well. And at the moment it is still coming down pretty heavily. Just a great day for sitting on the couch and doing some crafty work . Of course that is after I prepare dinner for 6!

Happy New Year!

Hi Donna,

The snow (light as it is) has tapered off here to a tiny bit once in a while... then disappearing for a while... then back again. It doesn't seem to be able to make up its mind if it's going to snow or not... but then the day is still young. We may get hit with a lot of it a bit later.

Matthew is just vegging out on the couch playing his new wrestling game that he got for Christmas while I "play" on the computer. I do have to go out to the grocery store in a few minutes though.... just realized that if I'm going to make scalloped potatoes for New Year's Day dinner, I need milk... and don't have any left in the fridge. I may also need to pick up some mustard too, for the baked beans... but I have to check in the cupboard to be sure about that before I go to the store.

Happy New Year to you too! :o)

By the way... are you close enough to Niagara Falls that you will be able to see the fireworks from there at midnight? We have *thought* about being there for New Year's Eve before, but then I think of how crowded it is at Times Square in New York City, and have seen quite a crowd on TV at Niagara Falls too.... so maybe not! ;o)

I understand that test because when the specialist did it to me with the right hand I almost hit him. This time when he wanted to test the left hand I knew what to expect and he let me do the test without helpin.

I know about knitting madly because before my surgery I was trying to get things completed.

The surgery itself isn't too bad I am just finding I am getting frustrated right now because the movement isn't coming back as quickly as I want it to.

Take care Darlene in Toronto

I can induce that same reaction from my other thumb/wrist, so I know what you mean! I'll wait until I'm out of left-handed casts before I mention it to my orthopod, however :D

I don't think I could knit at all right now without that depomedrol injection. I'm not doing anything foolish like tossing sheep around or pushing train locomotives out of the way, but now that I have some RoM I'm trying my best to get things done that have been languishing. I don't think I'll get everything finished before surgery though...
