I could eat steak at any time of the day or night.....lol yours sound good too.....I've a cast iron skillet but rarely use this now...preferring the griddle grill....quicker and all the yuk comes out of the stuff...nasty fats etc straight into the drain tray..
There isn't anything in the world better than home grown veg or fruit.....although I've noticed some damsons and some greengages in the hedgerows where I walk the dogs.....so maybe tomorrow I'll take a tub down and gather them.....or maybe a purple bucket...lol
LOL.....I won't try to eat it at any rate.....lol but my hands are so soft from the fleece I spin......oh maybe that's cos I still have me rubber gloves on.....lol
Microwave Western Sandwich (takes about 4 minutes)
Heat 1 TBSP Cheez Whiz in microwaveable dish on med power (my microwave only has one power setting) for 20 seconds. Add 2 eggs - beaten, and 1 chopped green onion. Cook on med power for 2 minutes, stirring after 30 seconds. (You *may* have to give it another stir close to the 2 minute mark to make sure it's well mixed and will cook all the way through.)
While waiting spread 4 slices of toast with additional Cheez Whiz and place egg mixture on toast when done. Makes 2 sandwiches!
My son and I love these, but I don't make it too often.
Thanks David! For both the directions and the warning. It is amazing how much stuff we have to watch out for these days! Makes you wonder how humans ever survived this long ;)
By the way, if you want a method for cooking hard-boiled eggs without the fear of cracking, here's my method:
Put the eggs and cold water in the pot together, enough water to cover the eggs. Put it on high heat, uncovered. When it starts boiling, let it boil for 1 minute then turn off the heat. Cover the pot and let sit for 6-7 minutes. This leaves just a teeny tiny bit of moist yellow in the middle of the yolk which is how I like it. I imagine you could boil or let sit for longer if you wanted the yolk better cooked.
This sounds great! Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, I don't eat Cheez Whiz so I will have to think of something else to use. What kind of consistency does it have after you microwave it? Maybe I'll just add some shredded cheddar at the end to melt it on top (notice I'm not considering doing without the cheese altogether ;).
Laura, it's looks like cheesy scrambled eggs with bits of green onion in it. :o)
I know of a few people who don't care for Cheez Whiz (my son's best friend who went through to be a chef, for instance... but even he likes this sandwich). ;o) We don't have it very often ourselves.. in fact we haven't had any Cheez Whiz in the house in months... I just thought of it when I was reading the other recipes earlier.
I don't think I've ever even tasted Cheez Whiz! But we try not to eat much processed food so it is not something I'm likely to give a try anytime soon. I did, however, go to high school with a guy who was absolutely obsessed with it. Most guys had pictures of sports figures or models or whatnot hanging in their locker - this guy's was covered with Cheez Whiz ads! Nice, smart, good-looking guy but I always thought the Cheez Whiz thing was a little weird!

(PS After reading your recipe again, think maybe I could substitute butter for the Cheez Whiz and then add a slice of cheddar on at the end!)
Okay, as long as we're talking about our favorite egg dishes and not worrying about fat and calories ;) I better share mine with you - Chipotle Cheddar Steam-Friend Eggs. Credit for my particular discovery of the "recipe" goes entirely to Deborah Madison and is found in my absolute favorite cookbook, Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone.
Melt butter in a heavy pan. Crack an egg into the pan and let it cook for about as long as you'd cook a fried egg on the first side. But do NOT flip it. Instead, sprinkle some shredded cheddar and chipotle pepper powder on top of the egg. Put a tablespoon of water into the pan and cover. After about a minute the water will be steamed off, the cheese should be nice and melty and the egg cooked. I've always made it with cheddar and chipotle but I'm sure you could experiment with other combinations and find something equally good!
I have never tried scrambled eggs with Worcestershire sauce but that sounds good! I also like them with cheddar (noticing a pattern?) or pesto, mixed in before they hit the pan. If you ever wanted to serve green eggs and ham, that's one way you could do it!
LOL Steaming your friends *could* be a good thing, Laura! I know when I used to go to the local swimming pool (at the Golf and Country Club) they had a jacuzzi *and* a steam room, which I rather enjoyed. ;o)
