update from Jenny

Hi all, wasn't sure what to put in subject line,"update from Dizzyland" or "Here's Dizzy" After going back to the first Dr. this week ,getting pills for motion sickness, and only taking enough to feel better and not be sleepy, drinking alot of water, having a big fight(shouting match) with my dd,telling her they want to give me drugs for stress, and she was my stress! I feel alot better now. I have to cut back on sodas(ouch- I drink only Mt.Dew all day)getting off my butt, walking more, and not getting stressed out about things, all med test say I'm 100% fine . (?) Thank you to all that sent good wishes and good advice, as always your kindness is a help. We had a 2hour snow storm here the other night about midnight... what the heck was that all about???:) Jenny

Thanks for the update, Jenny. While I am glad to hear that you are 100% fine, I am still curious as to what caused your symptoms in the first place.

Hi Jenny,

Mt. Dew is loaded with sugar and caffeine. I wonder if they checked your heart rate when you were feeling dizzy? I know a woman who drank coffee with lots of sugar all day long who started feeling almost the same effects you describe. They told her to cut way back on the coffee because it was causing some kind of rhythm problem, and she had to wear some monitor for them to finally catch it. I just remembered it when you posted about the Mt. Dew. I understand Mt. Dew is second only to Jolt as far as sugar and caffeine are concerned.

Hope you feel better soon!

Good Morning, Glad to hear all the tests are good. I was wondering myself if the Dew was harming you. Sugar and caffeine can really make you feel bad, especially in large amounts. But it is so hard to cut back. Once you do, however, you will be alright. Walking and exercise will also help with the stress. Ever since I joined the "Y", I have slept better and feel more in control of my stress (job realated).

You can get checked out by a cardiologist. Dizziness can be caused by an abnormal heartbeat, which can be from the soda or other things as well.

Hope you feel better, Diane

I agree with these other comments. I had a severe heart rythm problem last summer, it landed me in hospital for a few days, and I too, was told to stop the caffeine and sugar. I can sure tell now when I've had any LOL. I sympathise with you about your teen.....I went through that stage with 3 of them and it is hard. We're here if you need to talk. Marie and the cats- wishing you well

Junny,I am very happy that you are feeling better - however if my guess is correct and it is vertigo that you have, then it will return from time to time and as far as my case is concerned stress has nothing to do with it as I as not stressed about anything - being retired and able to take life very easy and relaxed. Again in my case it is because something goes wrong with the inner ear occasionally ( as it does with motion thus causing the dizziness).

Motion sickness tablets are very good so long as they do not make you too sleepy - as I said in my previous post Stemital which I take form time to time does not make you sleepy - I have been using it for at least 25 years with absolutly no side effects at all.

I just hope you keep well God Bless Gwen

I don't even want to get into what I've learned about 'diet' soda, nutra-sweet, etc, but... suffice to say, Shelagh is right, water is better! JM2C, Noreen

Thanks to all for advise, diet Mt Dew is what I have been drinking for years, now it's only in the morning, after noon/night I am drinking gatorade with water, can't do just plain water, have to have the lemon/lime taste. blood work was checked for iron, sugar, liver, kidney, and thyroid all normal. still thinking dehydration because I don't drink that much per day, and was all soda. Dr's letter also says (not checked)" inner ear dysfunction that would likely spontaneously resolve" in other words they don't have a d--- clue!!! I did drive Sat. first time in a week, went shopping today but was very "wallaby" and forgetful, but not dizzy. Paid 79.00 for an eye exam to have him tell me I could use reading glasses from the Dollar Store!! already knew that, had them since Dec. we take it one day at a time, back to the Flea/Craft booth tomorrow, and work 8am Sunday morn. Bfriend has been great, sticking close, doing housework, asking me every

5 mins. "Are you OK?" gota love it. dd has stayed away for a while, we both need a break! just have to find buttons to match gbaby sweater and it will be done! yeah! Thank you to all, Jenny
