New website - anyone care to critique it?

the black drop shadows made it look dirty/muddy. I'm hoping another color might work, but if not, it does look ok this way, I think.

there is also the argument that the click the small image to the larger image creates too much clicking for the user - and that a smaller image might not catch the attention necessary for the clickthrough to the larger one... I think if I get to have a lot of jewelry on there I will have to do it the way you suggest - but for now with the few pieces I have up, I think this works ok. That's the nice thing about websites, they are pretty easy to change ;) I'm glad to hear it's loading quickly for everyone.

NOT horrible, on the contrary! Very crisp and clean, images a good size and they stand out. Good work.

Oh, my gosh, I know what you mean about finding time! I have a six-yo, a four-yo, and an 8-mo, and my schedule revolves entirely around their kindergarten and pre-school, plus my best friend's ability to babysit for a few hours four days a week. It'll be a LOT easier for you when your little one is in school, but as you know the intervening years, while hard, are so precious it's hard sometimes to even think about looking forward to school days. (Which are also precious in their own way, once you figure out what to do with all that delicious TIME, LOL!)

I think FWIW, that people tend to make up their own minds about someone elses art fairly quickly.. ie, the work speaks volumes for itself...

This page is crisp and clean and DH commented on it immediately he saw it on how nice it was.. (says a lot to me - he lives on computers!)

As long as one doesn't blow ones own trumpet (Oh look how good I am), I think if one keeps the comments to what one enjoys doing etc, then, whether one talks in the third person or first person is irrelevant.

Yes. Please put up smaller pictures. It will sometimes take several minutes for all those pictures to load. And even at that, I sometimes get the X in a box, and have to re-download the individual pictures ("show picture"). If I can't get a reasonably fast download, I don't bother. AND I will avoid the site in the future.
