OT: GOOD NEWS!

It would be pretty hard for me to worry about $80k/yr. Since I started out as a new PhD for $13k/yr. Of course the was before you guys were born. Congradulations. I would personally take that check to his bank first thing Monday morning and get a cashier's check to deposit in your account. I had a similar problem with a realtor once and that was my solution after reporting him to the board of realtors. Armand

We deposited the check today at the ATM, and will be waiting with bated breath to see if it clears...

As for worrying about 80k a year... no way! Not us! That's unimaginable bounty... we could pay off the credit cards, fix up the house, and have extra to sock away in the bank for retirement! Between the two of us we've never made more than 35k, and although Moxley can potentially make a lot per hour of programming, it's been rare for him to have enough consistent paid hourly work to keep us in the black.

hardly believing this right now, but A: that guy's check showed up in the mail today, and B: (this is a big one, I'm beside myself) THE OTHER GUY DIDN'T TAKE THE JOB.

They offered it to Moxley. >

OH WOW WOW WOW

I hope he does swimmingly - and that the company hires him permanently! that is super good news!

I hope they pay him a handsome wage and your MOXLEY is soon very very happy with his new job!

Thank you Cheryl! He is so excited... and then, when he talked to them today, they clarified something else; even if the current (temporary) full-time position doesn't work out, they STILL want him to come on one day a week so he can move into the *permanent* full-time position in January!

They really, really like him. This is so, so good for him right now! He was pretty down about not having much paid work... he felt rejected and like he was failing. I think I posted about how I had to pay for dinner the other night... he didn't like that much, and he doesn't like it when I have to pay for gas either. He never says so, he just looks hangdog and I can tell. He's a very, very good, shiny, healthy Moxley!

I'm happy for him -- and I hope that it does work out to the full time thing. Sometimes - you just have to "wait for the right moment" or be "at the right place at the right time"
