Amusing anger management stitching

Sad to relate, we don't have an LNS in either Halifax or Dartmouth. I was coming home from the stitchin lunch in Dartmouth though lol

I am coming to the realization that I will have to mend my ways and not speed again, scared this will be reflected on next years car insurance, that's the way they (insurance companies) are operating these days, any chance to justify putting your premium up. I mean, after all, with a 4.5 billion profit line this past year, they have to think more creatively to top that next year!

I should add, these detentions were received for very puerile reasons. Often that my bed was not made properly with hospital corners, caught reading under the bedcovers after lights out - at 7:30 no less! That general type of thing.

OHHH??? so you are not really against agression , you just don`t want to be faced with it ???? mirjam

There are certainly occasions when a certain amount of low-grade, controlled "agression", for want of a better word, is unavoidable.

LOLOL! John`s still chuckling about this and wants to know how fast you were going - remembering your face in the back seat when we were dashing across country to catch the pub restaurant open - and he was actually sticking to the speed limit all the way! Our limits are higher than yours, though, aren`t they?

I am a speed freak, I am not sure why John thought that, if there's anything I enjoy, it's being driven for a change and speed never bothers me. Best I ever did (someone else driving) was nearing 160 mph on the Appia Way outside of Rome. Now, if you had been driving, I might have felt tense, but John ? Trust him with my life.

I don't know about the limits (obviously lol) highways here are 100 or

110 clicks, the particular area where I was was 50 clicks and I seem to recall the turd said I was doing near 80. Nobody really stays with the highway speeds, they were brought in during the late 70s (?) when there was a gas crisis and never removed. I acknowledge that it is really the most economical speed for most cars, but unless I set the cruise control, I am not capable of staying with 100 or 110 clicks. My eldest grandson referred to me once as Leadfoot Granny and it stuck lol

When I come to visit - can we take a bus, train - anything besides your car ... hell, I'll walk. I knew you were a speed demon when you came for a visit - I forget your timing on that trip, but I remember thinking 'I ain't agonna drive with this one anywhere.'

We call Jane "Ferodo foot" - she gives you an "exhilerating ride" as John puts it!!! Richard is the same, he drives aggressively, being police trained. LOL! I always feel he`s chasing someone. Our top legal speed is 70 (what do you mean by "clicks?)

Like Karen suggested Sheena, you could always follow the example of our Central Nova MP, Peter MacKay. He's leaving the country during the time he's serving 2 back- to -back, 7 day driving suspensions for speeding. He will be in Australia during that time. Maybe he thinks it's still a penal colony.

Lol I saw that. Thing is, I don't want to leave our fair province. I am lining up a team of people who will take me where I need to go, bridge and Alderney Guild lol

`Course that should be part of the penalty - no-one should be ALLOWED to give a banned driver a lift anywhere in a private car! LOL!

Many years ago, when I was young and foolish (now I am old and foolish), I used to exceed the speed limit when driving. I have now learned just how stupid it is to do this, particularly with city driving. For many reasons, the amount of time you can save by driving over the speed limit in any town is measured in seconds for journeys up to half an hour. When I used to get behind a big truck, I would speed to overtake it; only to find it a couple of cars behind me 15 minutes later. Nowadays, I look for these big trucks, get behind them, relax and enjoy the journey. If you are driving for 6 hours or more in a day, you may save a significant amount of time by exceeding the speed limit. Speeding across town saves an insignifcant amount of time, uses more gas, wears brakes out faster, etc. I have never been able to think of any other benefit to speeding, other than trying to save time. Just my 2 cents worth. ps. "clicks" can mean kilometers as someone else has mentioned. It can also mean kilometers per hour.

Agreed, but...

Far more important than saving time: the feel of the car performing well. You don't get that feeling at all speeds and I happen to like it, so I tend to drive at the speeds at which I get that feeling, which is not always the speed for which the road is posted. Of course, that also assumes that one drives a car that is capable of performing well.

Same here Brat - I guess I won't be doing it again, can't risk losing my license for six months, so now I don't dive and I don't speed, life is losing a lot of interest. Perhaps I should go up the valley and see if I can start some sky diving lessons or something lol

It doesn't take a six-hour drive to get a significant time savings. I cut over 30 minutes off the trip I used to make between my parents house and my apartment by exceeding the speed limit and traveling after midnight. That distance took slightly more than 2.5 hours at posted speeds and over three hours if stupid enough to hit rush-hour near Des Moines or football traffic near Iowa City. I made it, ignition on to ignition off, in exactly two hours.

Driving fast is fun as long as there isn't any traffic in the way. It's a power and control issue. I don't do it much anymore but then again I don't drive much anymore.
