Two years ago in preparation for a surface embroidery class I was teaching, I stocked up on placemats that would be embellished and then sewn together for tote bags. Not that long ago while making room for newly acquired things, I stumbled on this stash and decided to try to get some of my money back. I called the store and was told they would give me a refund for average price in last 30 days as long as the price tags were still attached. When Ashley, the clerk, scanned two of the mats and told me that she could give me $0.49 for one and $0.75, I was dismayed, appalled, etc. They're worth more than that even if I never use them so I decided to keep them.
moral of the story: If you've got things that you're not using and decide to return them to the store, you might not get what you paid for them.
