Happy Channukah

I believe you guys. But, having been raised by women who don't use pork products, and most lard I believe has a pork base - although IIRC MacDonalds used to do their fries in beef lard - hence the great flavor - I just don't. Plus - my lard experiene was definitely not a good one.

LOL - I still do rendered chicken fat occasionally. I've tried the vegetarian "nyah fat" but it's not as good - go figure ;^)

The clog your arteries thing is part of my not using lard. I'm not saying that I don't like it - just being aware now, and with a DH who has genetically high cholesterol so we watch the fats stuff. OTOH - breakfast with some really good fried in the fat/grease/drippings of stuff I rarely eat bread is a great thing.
