May I ask...

Into the snow? Why didn't you do the more humane thing and buy him a plane ticket to visit Auntie Trish?

Rabies, fleas, plague, Hanta virus.....

He was back this AM

More likely, I'll keep him around for the hawk to eat.

It's nice that you put the little mouse out in the snow. I have a friend who has twenty kookaburras that come regularly to be fed. Costs her a fortune in mince!

Che*rylllll*! I'm quite sure the hawk manages very nicely on its own. Next time you let the mouse go, put a blob of white-out on it to prove it's not the same one coming back.

We don't get rabies, plague or hantavirus here in Oz (she remarked smugly). ;->

Why would you snip out all the posters ???? I have been maintaining this list where necessary so Mickey can make the google map list.

Our daughter had to mince mice, a few years ago to feed her baby snakes! ;-)

It's just as easy to feed soaked dry dog food with calcium supplements added. Most snakes prefer to eat live mice and there's a great angst in the hearts of many mouse breeders over feeding their 'darlings' to snakes. To my mind, it's simply Nature at work and one man's meat is another man's pet mouse...

I have a friend who keeps a teenaged Diamond Python (Gorgeous creature it is! The snake, not the friend: he has a waist-length bushman's beard!) This python has been taught to eat chopped meat and supplements and this has (thankfully) prevented the friend from perpetually asking me for snake food. While I understand the snake's need to eat, I don't carefully hand-raise my kittens so they can grow up to be an apéritif for a reptile.

Ah, but come spring, a resident hawk will make it less likely that a groundhog or moles or voles will invade my garden. If I knew where the fox was denning, I bring them there!

I didn't know you were keeping the list in one huge piece -- sorry. Force of habit, I suppose -- I ALWAYS cut out everything that isn't directly related to what I am adding so that folks don't have to scroll down through acres of stuff just to see what I have added. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I am now in Buchanan, GA which is a little north of I-20 near the Alabama line. I will be moving to Helen, GA which is NE toward the NC line. My cross stitch shop won't be too far from Cumming :)

In that case, you have your sewing/quilting instructor. And you know our Tia Mary will tell everyone everywhere about your shop if you give good service.

PLEASE -- keep us posted as to when you have made the move. The closest LNS is Abecedarius and that's southwest of me almost an hour away right through the traffic!!! YUCK -- never go there unless absolutely necessary and then it's a major road trip and 2 or 3 of us go and make a day of it. It would be great to have the option to go north and the trip wouldn't be much longer and a **whole lot** nicer, too. Besides, we could have lunch at the Troll Tavern, under the bridge and then go to the candy shop :-))). Any idea what part of Helen you will have your shop located in? It's a shame you couldn't be in Dahlonega. Then I could "dod" the quilt shop, your LNS ND get my favourite toffee at the candy shop -- LOL! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Well, yeah, if I get good service, I will pretty much tell everyone

-- loudly and quite vociferously, too -- LOL! Of course, if I get lousy service, I will tell the person about it before I yell it to the world. If it's not made better, *then I will go about yelling :-). I hadn't thought about the finishing angle. NAOMAH, if you don't have anyone to do finish work once you open up your shop, consider MOI. I did do all the sewing related finish work for Stitcher's World when they were still located here in the metro Atlanta area. Then I did some of the sewing finish work for Plaid/Bucilla (they are located in the area also). I have also done a **lot** of sewing finish work for our very own Poetta of Ladybug Lane fame, too. Geez -- I hadn't realized all the needlework stuff I sewed in the past, I guess I got's me some 'sperience -- LOL. I will have to say I miss the work I got from Stitcher's World. I could be creative and have a lot of input into the finishing. Lots of "odd" sewing challenges for them too!! Jules Becker (she was boss lady) would call me and tell me what she wanted the finished piece to look like and then I would let her know how impossible that would be to do with just a sewing machine -- LOLOL!
