Sara I am in Wilmington and frequent the ponds down your way, fishing almost every Saturday morning March thru November.
Are there any good cross stitch shops in Dover?
That's exactly what I was thinking! I'm thrilled to see new names coming out of lurkerdom. And IMNSHO, there's no need to be "in awe".(no snarkiness intended whatsoever.) This group has experts in every kind of needlework but we're all rank amateurs in something. And the willingness to share knowlege here is wonderful. So please, join right in.
And Happy New Year to all!

I second that. I had a great time on the 17th. Cheryl I got a book mark from a friend who is a bead designer. It is one of the hook over the spine style with a leaf and ladybug. I'll have to get some of those to do Temari Teenies on.

We gotta get Trish and Joyce back here....

I can hardly wait to see it! Maybe next week! no the week after - I need to recover the house from everyone one being home for the last week plus. C

There you go.
I have to ask...Eleanor are you the nice lady who always signed herself as "Eleanor the Elder"?
I like the name, Eleanor; it was my mothers. She was always called Nell, but as she approached my age, she thought Eleanor was more dignified, and used it. Same as I was always Gill; now I am interchangeably Gillian (dignified), and still Gill, to those who know me.
Gillian/Gill
Unfortunately, there are none. I get my floss at ACMoore, but otherwise I do mail order. Once in a blue moon I get down to Bethany, or up to Strawberry Sampler, but I haven't even been up there since they moved. MY BIL and SIL in Baltimore gave me a gift cert to one of the shops there, so I'll have to make a road trip. Aw gee. Basically, Dover is a pit.

That does sound hellish...

Snicker - almost. I still can't find at least one of my framed pieces, and it's Charland's Maria, not exactly a tiny thing. There are about six boxes still to rummage through. Once that's done, I have to start reorganizing. In some cases I just stuffed things in cupboards and closets to get them out of the way.
Oh well, it's not exactly like I have to rush - one of the joys of retirement.
MargW
Amen to that!
Yes, don't take too long though because nature abhors a vacuum and retirement is one of those things that soon fills up. I am not sure now why I thought I was busy when I was working lol Retirement is great, you will love it.
Gee, thanks, Sheena! Rub it in to us working stiffs! :)

But, but, but ... there's no pleasing you, think what you have to look forward to in a few years.
But I want it *now* , when I can actually see to do all the stitching projects I have in my cabinet!!!!
Seriously, those remaining few years will probably fly by toooooo fast. sigh.
