Which is precisely what upholstery gimp does -- covers the edge of the fabric where it meets the wood of the furniture. Of course, it is also used other places where it doesn't have to cover an unsightly area. It's interesting how the name of a relatively soft fabric trim has come to be used in the manufacture of recreational vehicles. It makes sense when you think about it -- just seems a bit odd :-)!
