OT: Good news.

I went to see the surgeon this morning, and it is good news all round. The growth was a very low intensity cancer; I gather somewhat like the basal carcenomas my dermetologist takes from my skin routinely. The report has gone to an oncologist, who might or might not want to see me sometime after the holidays. It is now two weeks since I left hospital, so I can, once again, drive my car. I am thinking of going home early next week. I have another appointment with the surgeon in April, when he will probably order up another endoscopy to see how things are. All in all, very good news.

Yup - ditto from me. And be careful about doing too much. I'm assuming they did a laproscopic procedure if the doc is letting you drive after only

2 weeks . Much better than the more drastic way. Good news for you and your family.

I was lucky - had an open abdom. procedure - breastbone to belly button - & was able to drive again as soon as I got home, was in about 5 days was all. Of course, the seat belt didn't feel good, & I didn't WANT to go anywhere.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear the good news!
