You done good Tia Mary

I noticed this morning there were more new posts--actual readable interesting posts and not the idiotic spambot stuff--than there have been for a while. All because Tia Mary took it upon herself to post a good topic to get us all started talking. True, we have wandered a bit from needlework tips, and have been discussing kits, shedding dogs, cats who like beading and other diversions, but we've been talking. (and yes, there have been a few shots back and forth, but hey not all of my friends in the "real" world love each other either). So, thanks Tia Mary. If we don't like what we are seeing, or not seeing, we should all go and do likewise!

I'm going to add a resounding cheer. Hooray for TM for getting us back on track.

I can agree with the two of you. PLUS if we do not appear to an active news group our/your ISP could just drop the link to RCTN and RCTNP.

Anyone here want to send TM a toasted tomato sandwich with mayo, a Dr. Pepper and some deep fried Yam chips I'll toss in some cash for the postage.

I have to agree with you. I doubt that I tolerate Miracle Whip even if it was in the hands of a Kitten in leathers! RONFLMAO

And Diet Pepsi -- don't forget that :-)! Nothing beasts a bag of Cheetos and glass of Diet Pepsi with lots of ice when a person needs to put their foots up and rest tired bones. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I hope those are the puffy Cheet-os?

If so, you can come visit me anytime - I am the Diet Pepsi Queen!

I can't handle diet drinks, the aspartame triggers a migraine, within minutes. I know they say it is well tested but I often wonder - since it was tested on big people - what sort of effect it could have on a foetus. Sometimes when I think of the escalating rates of autism and ADD, I wonder if it is as simple as far reaching effects of aspartame. I don't know the figures for sales of diet drinks, but it must equal regular as the stupidmarkets seem to have equal displays of both.

(I'll leave now lol)

Didn't drink it when I was expecting. Actually, didn't drink anything diet until I was in my 30s and developed an illness that prevents me from drinking coffee.

Yeah - and I bet you eat that awful Miraculous only in how awful it tastes gooey stuff ;^p It's an orange stain - but it washes out.......

Suddenly I'm remembering some local NPR story years ago when they were interviewing an MD in Salt Lake City, who had opened a deli/restaurant. The reason - despite his thriving medical practice - he realized he had to do something when "people told me deli was Oscar Meyer on white bread with mayonnaise." I always chuckle thinking of that when the food taste item discussions happen.

You do know that HFCS is also a form of sugar? Soda wasn't made with white refined table syrup. Oh, yes - for a year when an undergrad I worked in the Industrial Engineering HQ of Pepsico - and one of my main projects during that time was doing research on the use of HFCS, as even then there were some of the sodas being made with HFCS at various bottling plants. Different formulations for mixing the sodas are used depending on which type of sugar is actually used (multiple types and forms are possible). It was pretty interesting. Mostly I did production efficiency studies for the plants in the central US to East Coast. And this special study. My boss was the chief of Industrial Engineering, his boss the Sr VP of Ops. Plenty of soda to be had at work. Trunks of cars searched when you left. And, as a holdover from spending time in many bottling plants, I still rarely drink soda.

Only mayo in this house, and it has to be Hellman's. Never the other icky stuff that starts with Miracle. .

I worked a couple of blocks from the "famous" or maybe it should be "infamous" Carnegie Deli on 6th Ave. in Manhattan and that story was always told there. Maybe it was even true that someone ordered pastrami on white with lettuce, tomator and mayonnaise.

Lots of tourists, with lots of what to us were strange tastes.

I might as well admit too that the only ketchup I will ever buy is Heinz

OK - we're kind of that way. No miracle ugh. But, I actually use the Duke's Light - which is a southern brand, and I like it very much.

Yeah, you see that a lot in delis with tourists in Miami as well. But, seriously, I did hear the interview - it cracked me up.

Absolutely. Having lived in tourist places seemingly forever, that's just how it is. Between NY, Miami and here, welll...almost nothing surprises me. Lets you see how different experiences are with regards to tastes in verious places.

With you there. Evidently DH's mom used Hunts, which I find way too sweet. During our serious economy time last year, I tried the Wegman's house brand. Better than Hunt's or Del Monte, but a little sweeter than Heinz - so we're back to Heinz -yeah. On the mustard front - plentyof variety - but we get either BaTampte or Hebrew National for our deli mustard, and I vary the Dijon and others.

Someone else recommended the Dukes Mayo so maybe I'll give it a try. We agree on mustard. Too much agreement is a little scary, isn't it? lol

OOO -- IAYP -- no, I only "do" crunchy Cheetos. I like all things crunchy except for insects. I don't like them in any manner :-). As for thye whole Pepsi (diet or not) it's a dirty word down here in Coke Country. That's one of the things I will be glad to have when we move back to Lizard Land. ALL of the vending machines will be equally weighted between Coke & Pepsi products. Sometimes, I have to search all of the cold cases at the front of the Walmart and if I am lucky, I

*might* find one half of one shelf with a mix of diet and reg Pepsi! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Wouldn't surprise me at all -- you're more than likely correct! WE should go back to drinking water and stuff like iced tea or regular soft drinks in moderation. Unfortunately for MOI, Pepsi is my caffeine drink of choice and I drink enough of it that I have gotten used to the diet. I'll have to try the stuff that is made with the stuff like Splenda -- it's supposed to taste about the same and not have all the chemical crap leftovers that aspartame provides. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I limit myself to one of the smaller bags of Cheetos (the one that is less then $2) per week. I *try* to limit myself to 2 cans of soda per day but if I am really busy either sewing or stitching all day, then how much I drink is up for grabs. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
