Beach Fabric Swap?

Hi there-

Winter have you down? Consider participating in a Beach Fabric Swap!

I would like to host a Beach Fabric Swap if anyone is interested. I was thinking maybe 10inch squares?

Please reply to this post. If there is interest I'll post an official invite and rules etc.

Thanks so much! Natalie

Thank you, Jeanne. I didn't remember having a Natalie either. Welcome, Natalie. Are you a long-time lurker or just trying to host a swap - which is, I suspect, a big challenge. Polly

Are you the Natalie with Berkley? If so, where've been? Gen

I remember Natalie - she and I were in one of Melissa's Round Robin together several years ago, but I think she's had some other things that have occupied her time since then and has been gone for a while. Welcome back, Natalie! If you have time, it'd be great to get an update on the happenings in your life.

Hi Louise and Gen!

It's great to be remembered. It has been a while! I wasn't sure who was around to remember me. :) (Maybe the last time I was very active was around 2004/ 2005)

I know live (as Gen might remember) on the East coast (Maryland). I have one daughter (2 yrs old) and another child on the way (this June). Berkeley the dog is still around and lots of fun.

I've been lurking on and off of the past month or so. After about a year of mostly not sewing and sort of fighting with a 1971 Bernina, this past December I took advantage of some sales and bought a 430 w/ BSR and walking foot! I have already finished two quilts that had been on hold for a long long time, and last night I started a new one! :) I was finding it frustrating that I wasn't sewing so I stopped buying fabric for a while and hanging out online here. Glad that time is over! :)

Hope all is well with everyone! Thanks again for the welcome!

Howdy!

I remember *that* Natalie! near D.C... interested in polka dot fabric swap...

Just because some people don't remember some other people doesn't make them non-RCTQers. Some do remember. ;-)

Most can be RCTQ-googled, people & posts:

R/Sandy - not down on/from winter (what winter?); always interested in fabric

Howdy!

well, B-fly, since you mentioned it and it's the 25th, that's 11 months 'til next Christmas: do you have your Christmas gift projects in process?

Scorpio is how I remembered Natalie, too (hi, Natalie); it's what we called the Al Pacino movie (Serpico). Like Yvette Mimieux, some things just stick in the memory files (god help us). Got to be a sign of something... astrology or otherwise.

So, Natalie, one baby here & one on the way? Definitely time to quilt, for sanity. ;-D Welcome back.

R/Sandy - enjoying a sunny Sunday in n.Tx.

So glad you're back, and congratulations on the "new" family. Stay a while, OK? I've met this girl, she's very nice. Gen

...and a waste to lose it as well. i know somethings get lower and lower as we get older and older but the waist just seems to disappear. j.

i'm not joining in the swap so fwiw, if some is washed (preshrunk) and some is not washed (will shrink when the swapper washes it) not all squares are equal. i think for bigger pieces of fabric it wouldnt be a big deal but with that size square.... and not all fabric shrinks the same amount either. just my 2 cents, j.

"Scorpio" wrote... ok. no pre-washing required. But please label fabric as washed or unwashed. I think I'll put an official post with rules up this evening. :)
