Can't help much on the nails, except to say that a greenish tinge of make-up (foundation/powder) is supposed to help with red skin. I don't suppose there is a subtle green nail polish? On the other hand, you could start wearing gloves for all your 'wet work'!! I had a Color me Beautiful session, many, many years ago - though I still have the folder. It was a revelation indeed, as I had never thought much about why I liked some colours on me and never wore others. I was a rebel, however, which the girl had obviously never encountered before!! She put a sort of mushroom coloured scarf cross my shoulders and asked if I could see how it enhanced my eyes. 'No', I said. 'I hate the colour so much, I would never wear it anyway, so let's move on'. . In message , Polly Esther writes

What a beautiful sweet darling. Leslie, I'm so glad you've rescued him. That's a lot of love. I'm betting he's just lots better this morning. And thank you for the email scan of deeper purplish mauve with beige undertones. I am profoundly grateful that I did ask if anyone had a tattoo on their backside. Polly

My working hands never see anything but clear polish. I use one that looks clear lavender in the bottle, to go with my cool skin tone. (a dark "summer") On my toes, anything goes. Current fave: light blue-violet (matches what I mostly wear, looks good with jeans).

My hairdresser (who also does manicures) sold me a bottle of miracles for my hands -an oil/salt scrub, with a follow up heavy-duty cream. Gets rid of rough, feels great. Roberta >Debra, thank you for the laugh of the day. Debra wrote "evidently I

No suggestions for the color but how interesting that I'm taking vitamin D as per doctor's orders and also and have been enjoying nicer fingernails as well! But usually I wear no polish at all. Mostly I smooth and buff my nails. I work at a computer most of the day and often am elbow deep into the guts of a vintage sewing machine LOL But every once in a while will put on a clear polish or something with a tad of color or shimmer.

Assuming you wear lipstick, choose something from the same color family as your lipstick. I seldom wear nail polish because I find that my nails seem healthier and less prone to breaking if I leave them bare.

Polly said: My doctor has me taking Vitamin D and a side effect is suddenly I have lovely long fingernails ================================== My doctor grabs every single person who walks through his reception area and insists that everyone absolutely needs to be taking 2,000 mg. a day of vitamin D. I hadn't associated my recently longer nails to the vit. D Maybe you've got something there. Apparently scientists have decided that most of us are severely defficient in it.

On a sad note, my 59 year old DH, who was operated on for prostate cancer a few months ago, is not out of the woods yet. We were told that they got it all out, as it had not reached the margins. His follow up blood test shows that this may not be the case and they're going to start radiation soon. I could use some prayers up here in NH. Other than a grown, single son, he's all I've got.

Ditto for me, Julia. I don't wear polish, either, for the same reason. I do, however, wear polish on my toenails in the summer (I keep those nails very short, so no huge chance of breakage), and I buff my fingernails daily.
