Denise, I am so sorry to learn they didn't get it all. I will certainly say some prayers that the radiation will be successful and your DH will have a complete recovery... and some prayers that you will be able to cope with the stress. It is difficult to watch someone you love go thru all these challenges.

Start Vit D 50000 IU tonight. How nice it would be to HAVE fingernails....wonder if it'd stop them from curling under. Haven't had in years cause of being on Prednisone. Only have to take it once a week. One side 'affect' of traveling this summer is my arms are tanned--R is a bit darker shade than the L.but I have a tan!!!!!!!!!!!! arms only but it's there :) Dr had hoped it would bring my D level up but it hasn't. Said most white skin just doesn't absorb it very well.

Fun! I got a score of 11 in the 50-59 age range. Oddly, my weakness was in the green to blue transition...my favorite!

Lots of guys in our circle of loved ones are battling this and some have had worse struggles than others but all are, praise God, alive. When my bone scan came back, along with some blood workup, I was found to be both borderline osteoarthritis and deficient in vitamin D....hence the directive for more calcium and vitamin D. So there was definately something there (or, more accurately, 'not' there LOL) for me.

I really think that your moniter is going to have an impact. Sometimes it is difficult to differeniate between a change in hue and a change in tone on a moniter. What you do will also affect your score. I am an artist who is a quilter, and I am used to seeing these sorts of hue scales, thus I scored very well indeed.

When creating a painting one of the tricks that artists use is to incorporate true complimentary colors of things in the foreground into the background to make the foreground pop. A light glaze of that same compliment over a less important bit of the foreground will indeed subdue it. Glazing a green over a red will tone it down. Placing that green next to the red will make it shout out.

So transfering that logic to makeup, a greenish foundation will tone down ruddy skin, green eyeshadow will make it look even ruddier. So a green nail polish on reddened hands is liable to be a look that is not exactly what is hoped for.

My nail polish is usually black, red, or metal, occasionally purple. Of course natural is not even in my vocabulary when it comes to such things.

NM: Agreed. I think the ambient light will also impact. My monitor is near a window. Yesterday (about 10:30 AM) I took the test during the early stages of the storm, while the sky was overcast and rainy. Today (About 12:30 PM) is a clear sunny day. Surprisingly, I scored much better yesterday, 16 verses 30! PAT in Virginia
