Eye candy indeed! I am in love with the log cabin that had leaves appliquéd onto the squares. Beautiful!

Wonderful! Thanks Marina! I'm fascinated by the one that's flat on the floor, with the flap bits. Wonder how it's quilted? Roberta in D

me too, Roberta. Unfortunately, my friend don't quilt yet, so her pics were taken just for a reportage

I think it's a contemporary quilt....maybe it's quilted only in the ditch.....his peculiarity is just those little windows .... I think also we can found that pattern in european quilting related editions....otften it happens ...if I'll found something more, I'll be happy to share with you all

I've seen a similar technique in "Omiyage" by Kumiko Sudo, she used it to make a little pinecone-shaped pouch. Very nifty- you basically sew 2 squares RST on only 2 sides, turn RSO and press. Then you sew the 2 loose edges of the underneath square to the 2 loose edges of the adjacent top squares, so the turned seam makes a little flap. Very fiddly, very effective, and IMO anybody who does a whole quilt's worth is probably in need of treatment in a nice institution. Roberta in D
