Finished a small one

Thanks, Pat -- compliments from you really make my day! :) And now I'll tell the *whole* story of that quilt. ;)

My friend gave me the strips for the center, and I made it. Fine. Houston was sneaking up on me, and I desperately wanted to get the quilting done before leaving, so I worked frantically to do so. Great. Oops. I completely forgot to put on borders, or even to buy fabric for them! :O Worse, I was *really* efficient and trimmed off the extra batting and backing, which wouldn't have been wide enough, anyway.

So off to Houston I went with scraps of the various fabrics glued to a sheet of paper. I found some fabrics for the borders and then came home and dithered (one of the things I do best) about whether attaching borders and then quilting them would cause a problem with puckering. But I finally attached the borders and backing to the quilted center, tucked in a piece of batting the right size and began quilting. Fortunately, the whole thing lies nice and flat, but I suspect this little episode may teach me -- *maybe* -- to think things through before rushing. ;) Anyone want to take bets? LOL!
