Heading out

I'm on my way to Texas to visit my parents this morning. I'm taking my DS (27!...can he be that old??) with me. DS will be leaving for grad school in NY next month and hasn't seen his grandparents for quite a while. I guess I'm concerned that this might be his last visit with the two of them. (That's the first I've expressed it "out loud"...and it hurts a bit to think about.) Do you suppose that's why I haven't packed yet and we're leaving in an hour?? Off to the showers. You all be good until I get back next week. Then all He-- breaks loose. Packing both kids, remodeling a bathroom and refinishing floors in a house that one is moving out of and the other is moving into and making a trip to NY. KJ

Have a great trip, KJ - if you ever get packed! I hope you enjoy every minute with both DS and your parents and that it's truly a trip to remember.

Now, for all the work coming up - don't think about it until you get back!

Howdy!

100*F this week in most of Texas: All the quilt shops have a/c. ;-D

Also keep an eye open for the Race Trac re-fueling stations; most of them have an entire wall of drinks, many-many of them cold & freezy, all of them delicious.

enjoy your trip! and if you need somebody to watch over your stash while you're away and working on all those household projects (you wouldn't want them collecting all that dust from refinishing the floors....) I'd be happy to keep it here for you.

Just let me know!

WOOHOO -- beat Frood to the punch this time!

Yup, it was hot Sandy. But not any hotter than here in Iowa at that time! All went well except the car airconditioning decided to conk out for the while on the way down. It was ok on the way home. Go figure. KJ

Cool! That's nice to know! He's pretty excited about a new chapter in his life. I am too, though I'll miss having him around here. He's such a joy to have around these days. KJ
