Morning all! i've just (and only just!) seen an email from Jo's Markabout the baby..............."Tristan Frederick Cox, was delivered at 14:33 on Tuesday 19th Januaryat Dundee's Ninewells Hospital.Unfortunately, nothing about the labour went to plan and Jo ended uphaving an emergency caesarian section. The problems didn't end thereas a blood vessel was not reattached whilst they were sewing her upand she was rushed back into the operating theatre at a couple ofhours later suffering from major blood loss. Fortunately, the surgeonswere able to repair the blood vessel and she was given multiple bloodtransfusions - to the extent that none of the blood she ended up withwas her own! There are potential complications to such major bloodtransfusions and Jo has spent the last 24 hours in the High DependancyUnit of the Labour Suite at Ninewells with multiple drips and monitorsbut has shown remarkable improvement. She is expected to continue toimprove now that the immediate crisis is passed. Tristan is a veryhealth, happy baby despite the dramatic nature of his arrival.Jo will have to stay in hospital for several days yet and will, nodoubt, e-mail you with all the gory details when she returns home."I will try to contact Mark and find out if Jo is well enough forhospital visitors and will let you all know if I get to see her.Polly I'm sorry to have got you to bursting point, I won't do itagain!Megwen

Glad Tristan has finally arrived, although I don't think I am as glad as Jo and Mark.

I spent 2days in the High Dependancy Unit after an emergency C Section although for different reasons.

I'm sure that she realises that everyone will be waiting for photos when she is feeling better.

I love the name and am so glad Tristan is healthy. Poor Jo. Big gentle hugs. I hope she recovers quickly.
