label for a hug quilt

I just finished a hug quilt for a friend of ds's gf. The friend has bone cancer and has recently had a recurrance. The girls from her college soccer team wanted a quilt made for her using photos and notes. I finished it yesterday---except for the binding. (i will post photos later). Now for the label....is there some quote or poem that you have used on a hug quilt to explain its purpose?

TIA

Hi Judy,

I made a hug quilt last year for a woman at work who has cancer. All of the blocks have handwritten notes from the folks who work with her. The label says, "May you feel the good wishes sewn into this quilt every time you use it."

A poem I came up with is:

Wrap this around you, pull it snug Somebody cares for [or loves] you, This is a HUG.

I think if you give a quilt and say (verbally or on the label) 'this is because I love you' ... or 'this is a get well wish' .... or some such, then that explains it. When I gave my friend a quilt in December, the Label said 'Pink Ribbon Quilt for C ------------ Made with love by P ------------ Town, Date.' That said it all. I don't think a "special" explanation is needed, unless the person is extremely insensitive. I'll say a prayer for your friend's friend.

Oh, I really like that, Irene! Short and sweet is the way to go, in my never humble opinion.
