Love the fabric, love the bag! That's a winner! I'd hate my PB&J to leak onto that. :-)

Neat fabric is right ! I just made that same lunch bag for my sis...Had a devil of a time at a quilt show last month choosing 3 fabrics that went together . There were luscious fabrics at this one table but try and find 3 compatibles was making me irritable until another gal came along and did it for me !! Love quilt shows !!

I could have saved myself the price of one FQ as that was the napkin which is neat but not needed. I'll probably sew it up though as it does make it a cute gift. Fortunately I did go to the patternmaker's site and there was a correction to one part of it. It is Page 2 , Step #5...should read "Refold with wrong sides together ( instead of right sides together as it says in directions ) with the Pellon Fusible Fleece sandwiched inside. Probably most people would correct it on their own anyway I'm sure. BTW, this brand fus. fleece is very good for this bag....makes a stand up item and the handles are really nice...not wimpy at all and sewing through 4 layers of the fleece was a cinch. I sewed only two rows of top stitching for the handles instead of the 4 suggested...only because when I'd finished those they looked so good I didn't want to tempt fate with any mistakes while doing more. Machine quilting was an option and I did do that on the inside lining . Mary

I really like that pattern too. Penny is located here in the Phoenix area and coordinated the Thimbleberries group I went to for a while.

The one I made used "coffee" fabrics and is destined for my sis in law up in Olympia.

Lovely! Did you use special or extra batting for insulation, Joan? TIA, PAT

The pattern recommended and I used fusible fleece. I believe the designer strongly endorses a Pellon product. We've had trouble with our last bolt of that and ordered a similar product from Warm 'N Natural. So that's what I used on this one. Give nice body without being too stiff.

thanx, joan
