My sweet mother....

Oh Pati, you and your family will be in my prayers. Losing your mom is hard, no matter how old she is, no matter how old you are. You will heal, slowly but surely.

Warmest greetings,

Lenore

Patti - so sorry for your loss. The hurt will lessen with time, but never really go away. The wonderful memories and good times remain forever..........

Your story reminds me so much of mine. I'd visited Mom the weekend before she had her heart attack and died. In the past 2+ years, those last days we had together have played over and over in my mind, giving me great comfort.

I'll never 'get over' her passing, but the good memories are replacing the enormous hurt as time goes by. As for coping, I just let myself wallow in grief until I felt like doing something else. Listen to your heart.

Thank you all so much. Both those who have sent condolences privately and here on line. I know that Mother was ready to go, and it was time. But she had just had her 78th birthday. Not all that old, I know. But with the Parkinson's and other problems she was getting to where she was totally losing her independence, and that concerned her. She said she was "okay" with it, but I know it bothered her. She had a wonderful life, and influenced many, many people in her years as a teacher. (She was only 4' 10" tall, and taught primary and kindergarden for the most part.)

She was loved, and will be sorely missed. But I know she is pain free, independent and with her pup (who was put to sleep just before Christmas.) And she is with my Dad, and her parents and more.

Thanks again, Pati, in Phx

Patti I know what you are going thru. I went to see my mother in Sept and before I could get back home my brother was calling me telling me she was gone. Give yourself time to grieve and don't try to rush it. (((HUGS)))
