new pics

Hi, just put a couple new pics on my spot at flickr.com and I'm just vain enough to want to show them to you guys. They were done quickly. These are the blocks and quilt for my friend who is in hospice. I'm binding the quilt now (added a couple borders) and I hope to quilt it tonight. I will give it to her husband tomorrow if at all possible. All I got to Sylvia while she was still able to see it were a coupld of the blocks sewn together. They've been added back into the quilt now. I know it won't win any awards, but it's been wonderful to make. Sunny

It's lovely, Sunny. I'm so glad she got to see some of it - and knew of the idea - before she got too ill. It will have reached her deep inside and made her happy, I'm sure. Quilts made with love, like this, have tremendous power. . In message , Sunny writes

I'm in the process of dismantling this quilt and putting it back together with straight lines and calmer sashing. It's too late for Sylvia, she's in a coma and her time with us is measured in hours now. Her husband has asked that the quilt be given to our local cancer support group for another patient to enjoy. Sylvia loved the portion of the quilt I took to her. She could see the brilliant colors and the contrasting yellow sashing. She could even tell that it was flowers. Sylvia has been a dear friend and in losing her, the world is losing brightness and light. I promised her I wouldn't cry. But I will hug the quilt a lot as I make it better and it will go on to comfort somebody else in need. thanks for the support and lovely replies, Sunny

Good for you, Sunny. That is a wonderful response to the sadness of losing your friend. At least now she will be peaceful, until her time on earth is at an end. . In message , Sunny writes

Prayers that Sylvia has a peaceful passing now and for her family and friends in their time of sorrow. The person that does receive the quilt will be doubly blessed.

{{{Hugs}}} for you, Sunny. I think Sylvia's husband is very generous to have you give the quilt to another person, and I think you're wonderful to have made the quilt and to give this piece of your heart to someone else. I hope Sylvia has an easy time of it and that you will remember the good times with her.
