OT, checking in

Hi all, it's Irene here...thought I'd check in on you all - wow you guys are all so busy! Prayers are going out to all of you who have requested them, and good vibes to those of you who are dealing with health issues.

I am very slowly getting back to doing some quilting. Funny how this 'hobby' calls you when you've been away for a while...so this week I cut out the pieces to make a quilted table runner and placements to apease the quilt gods! It will probably take me 6 months to finish it but at least it's started LOL

I am hanging in there, had my 3rd chemo last week. Am having a tough time from the side effects this round, which doesn't surprise me this stuff is nasty and really wears you down. But the good news is I only have one more round of this crud, then I'm in the home stretch. Since the healing from the surgery is not where I'd like it to be (lingering arm and wrist pain), I see the surgeon next week. Maybe some PT is in order.

I've got my wonderful RCTQ HUG on my bed, so I can look at it and wrap myself in it whenever a 'shot' of positive vibrations is needed and show it off to anyone who comes in the door...in fact, a friend stopped by today, and oohed and aahed over it, and was amazed that folks from all over the place would send in hug blocks for someone they never even met, let along put together a quilt for them! It just goes to show what a wonderful group RCTQ is and what lucky gal I am to be involved with such a caring group of folks.

Good to hear from you Irene. One of these days the way you're feeling will be better. It must be horrible to know that this is what you have to go through to be well. Glad you have a topic of conversation for the visitors you are getting! So glad it helps. Keep on keeping on. Thanks for taking time for the update. . In message , IMS writes

I am so glad you were able to check in and I caught your msg. Irene. My computer has been flaky so what I get is hit and miss. Sounds like your treatment on course. We are thinking of you and continuing to send well wishes. So glad that hug is holding you dear physically while we (as Polly says) are holding you in our hearts. Hugs, TAria

Sometimes I think I can slip our own hug quilt away and 'save' it for a little while. For goodness sake; how many quilts do you need when the temp outside is 110° ? Sooner or later, DH manages to ease it from the cool, dim guest room back to the bed. Just something about the love in a hug quilt that has to be held close all the time. So glad that Irene has our love and prayers and heart-hopes to wrap around her. Polly

So good to "see" you Irene! Wonderful that there is only one more treatment to go. I hope the appt with the surgeon will lead to less arm and wrist pain ASAP!

Oh, you good girl! The quilt gods will be very pleased. :-)

Glad the hug quilt is doing its work. :-)
