Jo-Ann's carries what is called "Hospital sheeting", it is basically a flannelized rubber. May have to ask for it, but they should have it or be able to order it for you. We used to keep it at the cutting counter.

I like the idea of a washable bootie/slipper but the forms that can be made out of felt. I wonder.. do you think I could stiffen some fabric by backing it with a stabiliser - like Vilene or similar - so I could make cute slippers that were washable? I quite like the elfish booties with the pointed tops. I could see those with curly toes as well. Now that I have gripper fabric for the bottoms, I think slipper-making is in my future again.

If you want those elfin /wizard curly toes, you can curl them and then catch them down with a stitch or two to keep them that way! Vilene can be used for all sorts of washable clothing, as well as the tailored stuff, so it would be fine. . In message , Johanna Gibson writes
