quilting together

I just had a friend stay for a couple nights while on her way to her daughter's baby shower this weekend. She had made a dust ruffle and curtains for the nursery and with some online and phone help from me, she made a cute little quilt top comprised of 5" blocks on point

I really must start proof reading better. "new found tricks..."...NOT "knew" ....and it really should be...."newly found"...... I have been doing this a lot lately and it drives me crazy to read a message that I have posted with a misspelling or wrong word. (My fingers just typed "work" for "word"...twice!)

My fingers type their own messages too! Sometimes a beautifully spelled word but with absolutely no relevance to the sentence!

I just put it down to having clever fingers!

My spell check on Thunderbird doesn't work which is annoying.

Thank you for telling me that, Sally. I was getting worried about my wayward fingers doing the thinking for me.... LOL

I love to quilt with a friend. It makes the repetitive steps go so much faster and funner. I might even like to quilt with an enemy. Bring me one and if it doesn't go well, I could just take her out for dinner. Polly

So it's not just me???? I'm relieved. I've thought my keyboarding skills were regressing but I'm glad to know my fingers just think for themselves. Honestly....I'm getting worse instead of better in the typing department. If it weren't for the backspace key, my notes would be unreadable.

I thought of you when I wrote that Polly. I know you have had several buddy sessions. It's fun and also rewarding to realize that I might actually know something that I could teach to others.

Happens to me to. If I type "qui" I often end up with "quilt" instead of "quit" or "quite" :)

Sigh. I'm finding that more and more often, Kathyl. So very annoying. The other day I caught a glimpse, in one of my posts, already on the NG, and saw 'stationary' instead of 'stationery'. So embarrassing. There are words which I find incredibly difficult to type, too. The hardest for me is 'beautiful' - I have to slow right down and spell it out!

Lucky we are not alone! Many of 'our readers' understand the problem >gg< . In message , KJ writes

I think so! We just didn't have enough time to hit the quilt shop and seal the deal. But maybe on her way back home.......

He-he! That's the infuriating thing, Jen, I know how to spell it, but my fingers just won't type it!! Handwriting is fine. Weird >g< . In message , jennellh writes

My handwriting has totally gone into the dumper! I think so much faster (keyboard speed) than I can write. I make a real mess of any handwritten note. Sigh.

I've completely given up on handwritten notes/letters and use my computer and printer instead. I cite the arthritis in my hands and most folks who know me know the reason. I do sign my name on the notes by hand.... usually. ;-)

I'm on the same slide, Kathyl. I made myself write notes after Christmas, as I don't want to lose the facility altogether! . In message , KJ writes

This is really comforting! I've had a few days that I really thought I was "losing it". Even when I concentrated it was difficult to make my mind control my hands at the slower speed. There is NO WAY I'll be doing any wedding invitation addressing! I'm really glad that most of the world (at least mine!) has become less formal and few people expect calligrapher addressed invitations...or even truly engraved ones. That's an unnecessary expense to me. Save it for the wine, food and music!!!
