quilting together

Gosh, Kathyl, you didn't insult me -- I hope I didn't give you that impression! I was just trying to explain that a stash is possible in a small space. Of course, my bathrooms aren't big enough to hold a dance in, so maybe I do have more room than she does. ;)

That's exactly why we're in a smaller house now, Cindy! We had a much larger house before we moved here, but I told DH that I didn't want to

*clean* my retirement away. LOL!

LOL! My house actually has only one very small hallway (about 5' long by

4' wide), so we don't have much wasted space. The laundry room is tiny

-- we can't get out to the garage through there if a laundry basket is on the floor in front of the dryer. ;)

I got a book from the library, which I haven't read yet.

The title is, "House Lust - America's obsession with our Homes."

I guess people need something to fill the void in their lives. So they can pretend they actually have one.

Maybe they should find a religion or start quilting or something.

Absolutely! And who wants to pay the ever-rising heating and cooling bills on a house bigger than they need, if we end up living on a fixed income. Some new houses I've seen have walk-in closets as big as the small bedroom in this house. Seriously.

Well, I will probably continue to lust after the idea of

2 kitchens in 1 house. I am jealous of Polly. LOL

I like watching Home and Garden Television. Recently they toured a home- I

*think* it was 14,000 sq. ft of livable space. The master closet was 1100 sq. ft.- for the lady of the house alone- he had his own smaller closet!!! She had a love seat and a chair in there with a table and lamp, a washer and dryer and ironing board and rows and rows of places for shoes, handbags, sweaters, etc. in drawers and on shelves all custom made of some lovely wood. All the clothing on hangers was behind wood framed glass doors rather like a long, long row of television armoires. It was mindboggleing- and it was full from the floor to ceiling with all her clothing and accessories! Quite a sight- it looked like a very upscale clothing store with all the rows of 'stuff' in there! The master both looked like it was another 1000 sq. feet or so- but it included both a his and hers bath in that area. I guess they were really cramped at bath time with those "tiny" bathrooms. VBG

It's my bulky sweatpants that take up the dresser room! Love them for winter 'around the house' wear.
