And I just read that the lace applique used was hand made by the Royal School of Needlearts. Carrickmacross, a traditional Irish lacemaking types of needlework, was used to make the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs used as the applique on the bodice and skirt! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Yes, Irish lace in embroidered on fine net. It was beautiful. Some is appliqu=E9, some is woven. The veil was edged, too. I think that might be bobbin lace. It would be nice to think that was honiton lace, like the Queen's, but it might have been Bucks point.

Watching those embroiderers close to is stunning. They come to Harrogate each year, and demonstrate goldwork.
