Sisters Quilt Show

I'm going to Sisters! I'll be there the 8th and 9th and early the 10th of July. I am so excited I could scream. We'll be staying in Bend because there are no rooms in Sisters itself.

Is anybody else going? Maybe we can meet up.

Guys, I can't begin to tell you how wonderfully this new year is starting for me. So much negative and scary stuff last year. I know there will be hurdles to deal with in the coming months. I'm not even going to think about income tax because .... I'm not going to think about it.

But I'm going to Sisters Quilt Show and I'd love to meet up with any of you who are also going.

If I get to go this year it will only be on Saturday for the outdoor show.....the best part IMO. :)

Apparently the accomodation in Sisters itself gets sold out a year in advance. I've been wondering about trying to go this year, I need to find out if tickets get sold out in advance or if you can buy a ticket on the day. It's too far to drive there and back in a day, but there are probably sufficient places on the I-5 corridor you could get accomodation at short notice that aren't too far. We went to Mount St Helens the weekend before the quilt show last year and the weather was horrendous and we saw nothing, so I'm disinclined to plan anything weather dependent in advance at the moment!

Accommodations in Sisters sell out 2-3 years in advance. What tickets are you referring to? The outdoor show on Saturday is free and a wonderful experience. As a hotel manager in the I-5 corridor, make sure you decide where you want to stay if you do go and get reservations or you may find yourself sleeping in a rest area or driving all the way home.

I'm not familiar enough with the show to know the outdoor show was free.

I had to get accomodation at short notice (after 8 in the evening) at a weekend in July in Vancouver, WA, I thought it could be a problem, but the first place I called had plenty of space. I'm pretty confident that if the weather forecast is good, that's plenty of time to start calling motels, if you're flexible about where to stay, which I would be, and if I didn't find anything, well I wouldn't leave home!

Another thing to keep in mind, June 26-July 6 are the Olympic track and field trials in Eugene so there will be many travelers in Oregon and some may be staying longer. Nearly 1/3 of our rooms are already reserved for the last week in June. I just want you to be aware so you aren't stranded.

When we went we rented a condo in Sun River. Worked out find and way closer then the 1-5. As a bonus the non quilters loved the area as well. Sue
