We had a wonderful experience with Ritz Camera tonight and I wanted to share.
In late May/early June my DD bought a Nikon N55 SLR camera with her hard earned babysitting money. Appreciate that she was 15 yrs old at the time. She had been accepted as part of the HS Yearbook staff and needed a dependable camera that she could take to school with her. It's been a really good camera until about the last 4-5 rolls of film....which have been completely blank. Uggggh!
Last night I called Ritz and we discussed the problem...thought possibly it was bad film since all the rolls had come from the same box...bought a single roll...shot and developed it.....blank again!
Tonight we took the camera back to Ritz knowing full well that if they had to send the camera off to be worked on, we were looking at 6-8 weeks before she would have it back. Since her grade depends on her ability to take the photos....we were concerned. We explained to the Mgr what the issues were...took in 3 of the blank rolls of film and mentioned that her grade was dependent on having a camera available to her. After looking over the camera quite well.....he replaced the camera on the spot. We questioned whether this model is prone to issues and were relieved to know that this was a fluke. The guy that is currently the Mgr of the store just happens to be the person that sold us the camera as well.
At any rate.........this was an A+ experience. I also want to add that this is not a fluke on their customer service. About 4 years ago they did the same thing for an SLR I had bought from them. Sometimes you may pay more when shopping in their stores BUT......they make it worth coming back to their store, time and again. We've bought our last 3 cameras there......and I feel confident to say this is where the next one will come from too. S
