OT: What is it with jobs lately?

Well, DH had to join the jobless yesterday. The company he was working for laid him off due to "budget". Good news is that he's got 3 interviews today. He's not panicing, but I am. That's us...never panic at the same time.

Deb I'm so sorry to hear that your hubby lost his job. I'll add him to my prayer list. Sounds like he has some great prospects with 3 interviews today. I hope that one of them is the perfect job for him! Hang in there.

Wow you're right Deb "What is it with jobs lately?" Hope you're husband finds the right job for him and your family. My husband is also in a job transition that I hope goes smoothly. I was just updating his resume' this week.

Sorry to hear the news Deb! My husband lost his job of 6 years last spring and he took it pretty hard! He went through two other places, before he found a 'home' with his current job! Good luck to DH from me!

DH has had 4 interviews between yesterday and today, so that's good. One of them, which he wouldn't mind having, is supposed to give him an answer either today or tomorrow. Obviously he didn't hear from them today. I had my panic yesterday, and I'm fine now. It's all going to work out!

DH has a job!! The official job offer will be given to him Monday morning at 10:00, but he met the president of the company today who shook his hand and said "Welcome aboard." DH is muchly happy. :-) He's taking a $5000 paycut, BUT...our insurance costs will be cut in half. Along with that, he's required to do 25 "billable hours" every week. For every hour he goes over that, he'll get $15 an hour. In his past job, he was known to put in

50 billable hours in a 40 hour work week. (He's good at multi-tasking on computers. LOL) Anyways, I just wanted to share the good news. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Oh, the one tiny bad part. He has to wear dress clothes. No more polo shirts. No more jeans and polo shirt if he's just staying in the office all day. He MUST wear dress shirts and ties, no matter what. This for a man who hates ties!!! DH doesn't even wear ties to church. Thankfully he's already got plenty of ties in the closet. I might have to dust them off, though. LOL He's going to feel like someone died every day. LOL Thank goodness for the gift card to JC Penny's that we have! We'll be going there either tonight or tomorrow shopping for dress shirts. LOL I just might have to get a picture of him on Monday morning.

Congratulations Deb. That's wonderful news. I can tell you are relieved that he got the job. I hope he enjoys it even though he has to wear a tie!
