Wow, a great page.

A problem for me is after clicking on a square to look at it I can never get back to the original layout... have to start all over each and every time. Maybe it's just me.

Thanks for it, it is very neat, though. Loved the hummingbird but its URL is no longer up.

No, I couldn't find a good way to get back either! I had to do the same search once more. AUD ;-))

I am glad the site is back! Just right click on the upper left corner of the computer, you know, on the back arrow and then click where you want to go on the drop down menu you get.

For some reason there are lots of sites that do this, they wont let you back track. Not sure why, but this is the way I do it so I can go back.

Oddly, the "va" country code seems to be for Vatican City. Crocheted bishop hats, hmm, I could see that. lol

Wow, what a great set of squares to choose from. I wonder why I had never seen that site before? Sure wish we had a printer that worked... oh well, maybe the site will still be there when the time comes that we get a printer up and running. :o) *fingers crossed*

Hey, why not? If Rosie Grier can do needlepoint, and some of the gentlemen on the newsgroup can knit or crochet... then why not the Bishops in the Vatican? :o)

Does it get cold enough in Italy to need afghans, or scarves, etc.... Anna Maria? Sorry, but I always hear about sunny Italy, and being as I've never been there, I wouldn't know first hand. :o)

Although the hummingbird square was a broken URL on digital granny, I found it here, and I think there are other birds, as well.

Just out of curiosity I made a whois of the site and it's registered by someone in Ohio (is it OH Ohio?). The registration expires next year, so plenty of time for printing patterns out :-)

Yes, in Italy we need scarves, afghans and so on :-) It can get quite cold in winter, expecially in Northern Italy. I remember some dump and cold nights in Florence and Pisa which made me nostalgic of Scandinavia LOL It has to be rememered that in Italy the warming systems have to be switched off during night (apart on the Alps) and you get up in the morning in a cold house :-( I hated that and I'm very happy to live in Sweden where the systems work 24/7.

Rome has a warmer climate, but a scarf comes handy anyway...

Hugs,

Anna Maria

If you look at the top right hand corner where the listing of squares is, you'll find in the top right hand corner of that a little multi-coloured rectangle (I think it's supposed to represent a blanket made of squares) If you click on that it takes you back to the previous page. I quite often find that clicking on the Back browser arrow takes you right back to the beginning, which is exceedingly frustrating; I think I've got a low tolerance level for doing the same thing over and over (which is why I hate housework!) I couldn't get it to work at first either, Els... but then after a few other people responded that they had gotten into the site I tried again (by clicking on one of the URLs in the responses) and it opened up for me with no problem. Odd thing, this technology... works when it wants to.

Els, I just clicked on the URL in your response and it worked for me again! Give it a try and see if it works for you too.

I'm pretty sure that OH is Ohio, Anna Maria.... but I'm sure someone who knows for sure will answer that for you. Good to know that the site will be there for a while longer, we will be getting a printer in the fall, so I should be able to get a few patterns that I want printed off then. :o)

Ahh, thank you... now I'll know what to expect if I ever make it to Italy. :o)

Funny you know, when I was planning my visit to England a few years back, I was expecting a lot more rain than there actually was while I was there. I think in the two weeks I was there I saw rain for two days. One day was particularly funny for me (which I didn't really consider to be rainy)... I was in a car with friends and a couple of speckles showed up on the windshield and the woman driving said (in a very frustrated tone) "Oh there... it's raining again!" and on came the windshield wipers. I was in the back seat grinning quietly to myself and thinking "I could spit more than that." LOL

Another day a different friend was showing me around Cambridge. We were walking along and a slight mist started... in unison, all the people on the street ducked under the awnings and up went their umbrellas. I kind of giggled and wondered why they bothered... it turned to rain and only lasted a couple of minutes and was gone again with full sunshine back out. I would have been very happy to just walk in that much rain.

The most rain I saw while I was there, was one night while I was riding a double-decker bus in London (enclosed, thankfully). The rain came down in BUCKETS and you could barely see anything at all. Thankfully it was at the end of the day, and I had done all the sight-seeing that I was going to before catching the train back to the village where I was staying.

Gemini in Ontario, Canada (where it doesn't snow all the time... honestly!) LOL

Sorry, I got in the habit of doing that when I used to chat on IRC... when people (mostly from much warmer countries) would find out where I was from I would always be asked if there was a lot of snow here.... even in mid-summer. My responses depended on my mood... sometimes I'd be in a silly mood and would reply "Yes, and I live in an igloo, drive a dog-sled, and have a pet polar bear too!". ;o)
